Landrin has launched a new series of chocolate eggs designed specifically for boys — the World Arsenal. This series includes models aeroplanes inspired by real military machines. The first collection, the "Fighters", includes 12 aircraft models and 12 magnets. All models can be quickly and easily assembled and disassembled by children. In every chocolate egg is a model aeroplane, historical information related to that particular plane, and a magnet.

 

A new surprise from Petrushka

Hi guys! A brand new collection from Landrin —"Mighty Heroes" has arrived!

Unlike most collections, the “Mighty Heroes" features three collections in one. The toy figures inside are characters from the heroic trilogy: “Alosha Popovich and Tugarin Zmey", “Dobrynia Nikititch and Zmey Gorynych" and “Ilya Muromets and Solovei Razboinik", all based on the animated adventure by the Melnitsa cartoon studio. Loved by both children and their parents, the first two cartoons will be followed by the third in December.

A New Disney Collection

Mickey Mouse is one of the most well-known and beloved children’s characters of all time. In 2004, Mickey topped the Forbes list of Richest Fictional People. From December 30th TV Channel One will broadcast a new educational series, The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

 

Meet the new collection of chocolate eggs of the same name. The "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" chocolate egg series includes figures of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and of course Pluto. This unique collection allows children to create scenes from the series with the toys they collect. The collection will also include magnets, puzzles and smart-puzzle keyrings.

Ratatouille — world release June 28th

Petrushka and "Children’s World" — an event for children!

On June 2nd a wonderful feast devoted to the 50th anniversary of the department store Children’s World, was held in the Gorkiy Recreation Park. Petrushka, the favourite of all sweet-toothed heroes, led the festivities and made the occasion a truly memorable one. About a hundred thousand people visited the "birthday" party, where various amusing activities and surprises had been planned. Many children wanted to take part in the competitions, so the playground was crowded with people. Each child had an opportunity to play games and win a prize from Petrushka. Children took part in riddle-solving, art pavement crafts, singing and poetry and they too all won prizes. Every visitor had their moment to be a fairy tale hero, and got an opportunity to have their photos taken together with Petrushka and the characters from the cartoon “Prostokvashino". The children arrived in plenty of time for all the fun and games, and their parents were able to relax while the children played. Happy faces and bright eyes were reward enough for the organisers. Everyone had a great time!

 

Sales meeting 2007

May 28th-31st saw the annual sales meeting of the Landrin Confectionary Company take place in Lipki, Moscow. During the meeting, outstanding results were announced for the year 2006, new projects were laid out and goals were set for the next season. The marketing department presented new collections of toys for the year 2007/8. Awards were made to the most successful employees. Overall the conference was a busy event. After travelling long distances, some attendees refreshed and relaxed in one of the spa-centres, while others took part in paintball and volleyball tournaments. The united team of the North-West region was the overall winner. Finally the participants enjoyed a delicious grill buffet, followed by superb fireworks, singing and dancing. The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone attending went home hardly able to wait for the next meeting.

 

June 7th — world release from Sony Animation — Surf’s Up. The ice has thawed — the penguins are out!

The press team has invited us to have a look behind the scenes of the world’s most dramatic and dangerous surf competition — The Annual Penguin’s Surf Championship.

May 24th Blockbuster of the Year! Pirates of the Caribbean 3 — At World’s End. Yo Ho Ho! It’s a Pirate’s Life for Me!

Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Captain Barbossa must travel to dangerous and exotic lands in order to confront pirate Captain Sao Feng, and to seize his charts and a ship that will take them to the ends of the earth to rescue Jack Sparrow. Pirates of the world must unite to defeat Davy Jones’ Armada! Along with the film’s release, Landrin presents a new chocolate egg collection: "Pirates of the Caribbean 3 — At World’s End". The major characters are joined by a whole host of pirates from the Armada, and also included in the collection is a series of metallic pendants, pirate tattoos and much, much more!

 

Petrushka makes children laugh again!

April 22nd saw the St Petersburg Theatre welcome an unusual guest: the State Drama Centre Alsace brought their "Comedians" puppet performance from France. Petrushka couldn’t miss such an extraordinary event and decided to make it a double treat for the children attending. Each young theatre-goer was given a sweet surprise — a chocolate “Petrushka" egg from the “Prostokvashino" collection. Some children got to take part in competitions and win prizes and all the children participated in singing and reciting poetry — they all won prizes from Petrushka. Among the children were a number from orphanages. The festival organisers and theatre administrators were delighted to see all the children enjoying themselves so much, and decided to arrange such festivities on a regular basis. Petrushka is the winner of the "Test Purchase".

ORT First Channel broadcast the results of its consumer goods quality testing programme on April 4th. The event focused on chocolate eggs. Seven brands were purchased for testing, among them the "Petrushka" chocolate eggs made by Landrin Confectionary. There were two rounds. First, random shoppers were asked to try and then vote for their favourite chocolate egg. Their opinion was based on first impressions without their knowing any information about where the eggs were made or by whom. As a result, four eggs were admitted to the second round. The second round was held in a testing laboratory where the chocolate quality, material from which the toys were made, package quality and the labelling were assessed. Petrushka passed all tests with flying colours. The other brands either lost out on the inferior quality of chocolate, a lack of a clear warning that the products are not intended for children under three, or because the plastic capsule was not easy to open or the toy unable to be assembled without parental help. Customers liked Petrushka best. The brand combined the best of everything: great chocolate, and safe and non-toxic toys and materials. A pleasure and a surprise in one egg! The Mystery of the Third Planet

Natalia Orlova vs Landrin Confectionary. March 14th 2007, the suit was brought to the Golovinsky District Court, Moscow. Both parties were present at the judicial proceedings. Having heard the evidence and testimonies from both sides, the court ruled in favour of Landrin Confectionary. This decision allowed Landrin to continue making chocolate eggs with toys relating to the characters from "The Mystery of the Third Planet" cartoon series. Landrin’s legal position was based on the recognition of the creative contribution to the cartoon of Ms. Orlova. However, material rights regarding official merchandise belonged to the employer, in this case the film studio “Souzmultfilm". Natalia Orlova was working on the cartoon as an employee of Souzmultfilm. Landrin has a contractual relationship with the studio, which gives Landrin the right to produce the character toys in agreement with the studio. Moreover, Landrin had signed a contract with K. A. Soshinskaya, the widow of the writer Kir Bulychev, whose work was the basis for the Mystery of the Third Planet cartoon. The contract with K. A. Soshinskaya was agreed upon the grounds that she was the rightful owner of the literature created before the cartoon, independent of the cartoon, and later used for the cartoon. Landrin wishes to make it known that it remains entirely respectful towards the authors, and will always observe their rights and lawful interests.

For Landrin, the beginning of 2007 was marked by its participation in two large exhibitions -"ISM 2007 The Future of Sweets" in January and the “ProdExpo" in February. The event was held in Cologne, Germany, and was among the largest international confectionery exhibitions in the world.As befitting one of the leaders in the industry, Landrin displayed its most well-loved Russian candies, that then became a hit at the exhibition also.

 

In the middle of February, Landrin took part in the largest exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe — the 14th International Exhibition of Foods “ProdExpo 2007". The exhibition was held at the Krasnaya Presna Expocentre in Moscow. Landrin attracted attention both with its signature “Petrushka", “Soulmate", “Chudiki" and “Fairytale" collections, as well as with its latest additions which are planned for production in the near future — and also with a brand new product, Landrin sweets.
